XEREZ & CADIZ

Cádiz CF based at the Caranza stadium in Cádiz city is the senior club in the province this year celebrating its 100 th year. However for this season – as last – it plays second fiddle to Xerez CF from the city of Jerez.

Xerez will this season be playing in the Second Division, having been relegated from La Primera. Likewise Cádiz are in Second Division B also having been relegated last season.

Whilst Cádiz was founded in 1910 Xerez in its present form dates from 1947. Cádiz has spent 12 seasons in La Primera (its highest finish was 12 th) and has been in the Second Division for 36 seasons. In contrast Xerez was promoted to La Primera for the first time in the 2009/2010 season having been Division 2 champions in 2008/2009.
