Cadiz news and informationCertain offices of Jerez town hall were plunged in to darkness this week after the electricity company Endesa Sevillana cut off the supply because of unpaid bills. The town planning and finance departments were affected as too were various sports centres. Meanwhile the town hall is hoping the Bouncopy telephone centre can be saved along with the 300 jobs. The company has announced it is closing the Jerez operation but it is hoped other investors will come forward to rescue the situation. Students at the university campus in Jerez have held a protest due to the lack of classrooms. Arcos is to spend 448,367 euros on the upgrading of two streets – the Alejandro Casona and Pedro Antonio de Alarcón. The work will take 10 months with the funding coming from the provincial authority. The Andalucía health service is to invest 61,000 euros on improving the health centres in Villamartín and Prado del Rey.
